Heath

A week ago, I refreshed the NY TIMES homepage that always lurks somewhere on my desktop.

I will never forget the feeling that came over me as I read that Heath Ledger was found naked and dead in a sea of pills.

It seemed like a few short months ago when my roomate Casey and I were mourning the break up of Heath and Michelle Williams. "How did I not know this happened? " I half whined/exclaimed as I read an article about how when celebrities move in and out of Brooklyn the tone of the community shifts. "They were so perfect together," I thought out loud.

The whole ordeal reminds me of this theory I have about beautiful people and tortured souls. But I digress....

He seemingly had it all. The budding career that led him to the gorgeous girl who gave him a beautiful daughter.

Just goes to show, things are rarely as they seem. A lot goes on behind the scenes. I look forward to seeing Heath as THE JOKER and mourn the loss of this talented young actor.

Stina Persson

What an amazing talent. This artist first caught my eye in a Nike campaign. The vibrant water color made the copy sing.

But it is such a delight to explore this artist outside the confines of advertising. On her own turf.

Edgy. Unique. Real. Alive. Art.

The Risk is not to take The Risk

Kerri Martin came to speak to us on Friday.

She told us that the riskiest thing to do is not to take risks.

Which is how she approaches the clients she chooses to work for and the subsequent way she carries out her job.

Throw away the stale titles that label our work (VP of Marketing and CMO) and lets substitute them for a few Kerri has had (Guardian of Brand Soul and Director of Brand Innovation).

INTO THE WILD

As a general rule, I refuse to a see a movie based on a book before actually reading the book.

But rules were meant to be broken and we went ahead and saw Into the Wild anyway.

First of all. Excellent, excellent movie. One of those films that follow you to bed that night and creep into your thoughts intermittently throughout the days to come.

Then I tried to read the book and remembered why I established the rule in the first place.

Fenske's favorite holiday

The annual Brunswick Stew Festival is a Richmond staple.

There is a lot of sampling and double fisting stew.

I've never seen Fenske happier.
